Zed Shaw, the man who wrote Mongrel which consequently cost him his career (almost), caused quite a stir and all sorts of reaction from readers with his ‘Rails is a Ghetto‘ rant.
While there may be some amount of truth in his words, it is quite disappointing to see how he chose to put forward his feelings. While I do admire his candor, I feel that he may have done more harm than good to himself. Though his hard work definitely demands appreciation, his words do not. Pouring one’s frustration in public by demeaning others as well as whole community is definitely not a mature way to do things. I sincerely hope he gets over this and starts to realize that nothing can be gained by such actions and that the world will still move on. Zed Shaw may, after all, not leave any pleasant memories in the minds of many other who once admired him for his genius.
What?????? Say that again?….
So if you think that I am mad at Zed, you got me wrong! He is great guy! Crazy, I must admit though! As Zed puts it, “it all an act”!
